West Chop Area. Perfect Home for Extended Families, Huge Wrap Around Porch for Dining & Relaxing, Walk to Town & Nearby Harbor Beach

A special home for generational gatherings, this expansive home has been updated to accommodate the needs of today's families while still maintaining much of it's vintage charm. The current owners are adding central AC throughout that will be completed for summer 2019 along with additional improvements listed below.

The home is located on elegant Hatch Rd in  the West Chop area of Vineyard Haven. The main part of the house hosts 4 bedrooms and 4 baths and the apartment accessible off of the porch or via private stairway to the side of the garage hosts a separate living room, two bedrooms, kitchenette and a bath.  The large yard and huge wrap around porch with one end screened invites guests to enjoy the outside in comfort with two living areas,  outdoor dining area that seats 12 and a hammock to one side. There is a patio area just off of the porch on the yard side with gas grill an enclosed outside shower and seating along side of the yard.

The main house features an open living and dining area ( seats 8) with exits onto the grand wraparound porch from the living room and onto the screened porch from the dining area. Additional outdoor dining on the porch seats 12.  The kitchen will have all new counters, appliances and flooring for summer 2019.  Completing the fist level is a laundry/mud room with a common bathroom off of this area.  Details such as  modern furnishings, new appliances, new counters in both kitchens, central AC and  4 TV's for 2019 season, give this  spacious home a whole new look and feel, combing the vintage charm with sleek modern decor and just the right touch of beach vibe and family comfort.

While there are 6 bedrooms in total the owners wish to keep the occupancy limit to 10  but will consider up to 12, on a case by case basis.  The number of bedrooms assures room for all to relax in comfort.  The master bedroom with king bed, en suite and with TV is located on the 2nd level, both the bath and the master bedroom will be all newly painted for summer 2019 and addtional furnishings and decor being added by a professional decorator.  In addition on the 2nd level there is a spacious guest bedroom with  queen bed, an additional hall bath and a TV room with sleep sofa on this level.

The third level hosts two spacious bedrooms one with two singles and one with two doubles sharing a Jack & Jill bath.  Being this is an older home  that has been and is being updated, the rails on the 3rd level landing while in compliance, are low and do not meet code required of newer homes.  Parents of young children will want to consider prohibiting young children from using this level. 

Two addtional guest bedrooms one with a single daybed and one with a queen bed are located in the separate apartment and share a hall bath. The apartment has its onwer living area with TV, kitchenette (new counters and appliances for 2019) and private deck.  Access to this area is from the porch to one end or private entrance from the driveway. 

Additional Notes:  The large lawn area invites a game of badminton, wiffle ball and room for children to run and play. There is public access to an outer harbor beach area just a 3 minute walk from the house. Multiple larger public beaches on both the North & South shores  within 15 to 20 minute drive from the house.

Quaint Vineyard Haven village center is approximately a 10 walk from the house or a 5 minute drive where you will find, boutique shops, galleries,family and gourmet restuarants, health club at the Mansion House Inn and  a movie house.  Grocery Stores, fish markets, hardware stores are all located on the outskirts of Vineyard Haven and are just a short drive from this expansive family vacation home.
