This unique home is in the popular East Chop area of the island and is situated in a peaceful, private, and natural setting a mile from colorful and historical Oak Bluffs, ocean beaches, and quaint Vineyard Haven shops.   The Boathouse is located on a private acre of waterfront grounds overlooking Crystal Lake with swans, pussy willows, families of ducks, and other water birds. You’ll also see deer among the trees.  Listen to and watch the ferries as they travel from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven.  The lake is a few steps from the house.  This is the consummate Vineyard setting. 

From the nearby beaches to the marina and the lighthouse just down the road - you are vacationing in the quaint East Chop village of Oak Bluffs with its historic Gingerbread Victorians lining the town. The restaurants and shopping in both Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven are within about a mile, as are the Flying Horses. Sailing, boating, and fishing are all available nearby. Farm Neck Golf is a ten-minute drive. Farmers Market, Chilmark Fairs, Summer Concerts in the park, and Illumination Night are just some of the unique features and festivities you will enjoy.

If you are a runner this location is perfect. The route from East Chop to Edgartown is one of the most scenic in the world. Listen for the channel marker bells as you run through 'OB' and on towards the lagoon.
