All areas of the island have their own equally beautiful and unique characteristics, three main down-island towns have central business areas, with boutique shops, a spectacular variety of family and gourmet dining, entertainment, harbor areas, theaters, pubs, arts districts, fresh fish markets, grocers and supply stores.  Bike trails abound on the Vineyard from connecting trails to miles of touring trails as do conservation districts in all areas with a seemingly endless number of walking trails. all taking in some amazing vistas of land and the surrounding shoreline.
