Makonikey is a private exclusive enclave of homes, a peaceful retreat, mostly unknown to summer visitors. Nature abounds and the private association beaches are gorgeous. Public beaches are just a 15 to 20-minute drive from this spectacular location. Vineyard Haven town center with all manner of shops, grocers, fish markets, supply stores, movie theater, dining, and boutique shops is just a 10-minute drive from the house.  Venture a little further to the towns of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown each with its own diverse characteristics, harbor areas, beaches, galleries, family, and fine dining and entertainment. Take a drive up island to Menemsha and enjoy beachfront sunsets, the best in fish markets with take-out menus. Outdoor markets open one day each week in a variety of locations. Nature trails and biking touring trails abound across the island!
