Here's What's Happening on Martha's Vineyard this December
While December in Martha’s Vineyard is definitely off-season, there’s still plenty going on around the Island for both locals and visitors to enjoy. When the temperature drops, Vineyard-ers stay toasty warm and spread the holiday spirit at community gatherings. Here are a few of our favorite December gatherings around the Island. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
This annual weekend long festival brings together local businesses for a good cause. Through various festive events, the event raises money for charities and non-profits on the Island. Taking place December 7 – 10, guests can shop sales at their favorite Vineyard stores, attend parties with their friends and neighbors, explore everything the Edgartown community has to offer, and participate in overall holiday cheer. You can visit the Edgartown Board of Trade website for a full schedule of events and a list of participating businesses.
The West Tisbury Farmer’s Market, established in 1974, doesn’t close up shop when the snow falls. The organization is dedicated to bringing local agriculture to the Island residents and guests year-round. From 10AM- 1PM (mostly) every Saturday in November and December at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury, visitors can shop their favorite local agricultural products. The Winter Farmer’s Market includes special events each week including improve dance, herbal tea making, crafts, and gingerbread cooking decorating. The Winter Farmer’s Market is the perfect place to catch some entertainment, finish up your holiday shopping, and grab fresh local ingredients for your dinner.
